Our 2023 rankings named University of Minnesota - Twin Cities the most popular school in the Plains States Region for economics students working on their bachelor’s degree. UMN Twin Cities is a very large public school located in the large city of Minneapolis.

Women make up 30% of the economics majors at the school.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, economics graduates from UMN Twin Cities carry an average student debt load of $18,768. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $276, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.

The in-demand bachelor’s degree programs at Fort Hays State University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular economics schools in the Plains States Region . Located in the remote town of Hays, FHSU is a public school with a large student population.

Of the 156 students majoring in economics at FHSU, 26% are male and 74% are female.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, economics graduates from FHSU carry an average student debt load of $21,667.

Iowa City, IA

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of Iowa is a great place for economics students working on their bachelor’s degree. Iowa is a very large public school located in the small city of Iowa City.

About 19% of the students majoring in economics at the school are women while 81% are male.

The average amount in student loans that economics majors at Iowa take out while working on their Bachelor's Degree is $19,942. For students who choose a 10-year repayment plan, the average monthly student loan payment is $380.
