This report analyzed 46 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular bachelor's degree programs for business students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the General Business/Commerce program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for general business majors pursuing a bachelor's degree.

Tarleton State University

Stephenville, TX

Our analysis found Tarleton State University to be the most popular school for general business/commerce students who want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the Southwest Region . Tarleton is a large public school located in the remote town of Stephenville.

Women make up 62% of the general business majors at the school.

While working on their Bachelor's Degree, general business majors at Tarleton accumulate an average of around $18,881 in student debt. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $347.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Sam Houston State University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Business & Commerce Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region list. SHSU is a fairly large public school located in the distant town of Huntsville.

Of the 263 students majoring in general business at SHSU, 49% are male and 51% are female.

After completing their Bachelor's Degree, general business graduates from SHSU carry an average student debt load of $23,236. When it comes time to repay the loan, graduates who are on a 10-year repayment plan pay an average monthly payment of $217.

A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Stephen F Austin State University is a great place for general business/commerce students working on their bachelor’s degree. SFASU is a fairly large public school located in the remote town of Nacogdoches.

Of the 133 students majoring in general business at SFASU, 59% are male and 41% are female.

On average, general business graduates from SFASU take out $22,673 in student loans while working on their Bachelor's Degree. The average monthly payment of a loan this size is about $207, assuming that the borrower is on a 10-year repayment plan.
