This report analyzed 33 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for business students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found University of Phoenix - Arizona to be the most popular school for business students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the Southwest Region . Located in Tempe, Arizona, the large private for-profit school awarded 166 diplomas to qualifed doctor’s degree students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 54% were women.
Some students may be able to take online graduate classes at UOPX - Arizona. In 2019-2020 about 99% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Our Lady of the Lake University. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region list. OLLU is a private not-for-profit institution located in San Antonio, Texas. The school has a small population, and it awarded 47 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of New Mexico - Main Campus came in at #24 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. This large public school is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and it awarded 4 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 25% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that UNM does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 38% took at least some of their classes online.
Hardin - Simmons University came in at #24 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. Hardin - Simmons University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Abilene, Texas that handed out 4 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
