To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Antioch University - Midwest the most popular school in Ohio for business students working on their doctor’s degree. Antioch University McGregor is a very small private not-for-profit school situated in Yellow Springs, Ohio. It awarded 26 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 81% were women.
Our 2023 rankings named Ohio State University - Main Campus the most popular school in Ohio for business students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in Columbus, Ohio, the large public school handed out 26 doctor’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
Around 31% of those degree recipients were women.
One thing to take note of is that Ohio State does offer online graduate classes in some areas. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 76% took at least some of their classes online.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Case Western Reserve University. The school came in at #3 on this year’s Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio list. This fairly large private not-for-profit school is located in Cleveland, Ohio, and it awarded 20 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 45% were women.
Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at Case Western. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 17% took at least some of their classes online.
The excellent doctor’s degree programs at Franklin University helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular business schools in Ohio. Franklin University is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school located in Columbus, Ohio that handed out 9 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 44% of those degree recipients were women.
Since the graduate programs at Franklin University are primarily online school, so it is a great choice for returning adults and students who work full time.
You’ll be in good company if you attend Kent State University at Kent. The school came in at #5 on this year’s Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio list. Kent, Ohio is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctor’s degrees to 5 students in 2020-2021.
Around 40% of those degree recipients were women.
You may have the opportunity to take online graduate classes at Kent State. To give an idea of how popular online courses are at the school, 57% of graduates took at least one course online in 2019-2020.
Ohio University - Athens Campus did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for business students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. If you are interested in distance education, be sure to check with the school since University of Toledo does offer online graduate classes for certain majors. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 29% took at least some of their classes online.
Wright State University - Main Campus did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for business students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Dayton, Ohio is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctor’s degrees to 4 students in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 100% were women.
Wright State University - Main Campus does have options available for those who want to take online graduate classes. You will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your specific major. Of all the graduate students enrolled at the school during the 2019-2020 academic year, around 73% took at least some of their classes online.
University of Cincinnati - Main Campus did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for business students to get a doctor’s degree. It came in at #9 on the list. UC is a large public school situated in Cincinnati, Ohio. It awarded 3 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 67% were women.
UC does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. In fact, around 82% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
With a ranking of #9, Cleveland State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for business students working on their doctor’s degree. Cleveland State University is a public institution located in Cleveland, Ohio. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 3 doctor’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 33% were women.
Cleveland State University does offer online graduate classes for certain degree levels. During the 2019-2020 year, about 88% of the graduate students at the school took at least one online course.
Air Force Institute of Technology - Graduate School of Engineering & Management
Air Force Institute of Technology - Graduate School of Engineering & Management came in at #11 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Business Doctor’s Degree Schools in Ohio ranking. AFIT Graduate School of Engineering & Management is located in Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and has a small student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 2 doctor’s degrees to qualified students.
Around 50% of those degree recipients were women.
