Our ranking of value is based on the quality of a program as defined in our per sticker price dollar. More specifically, we discount our quality score by the published tuition and fees charged by a school. This gives the cost per unit of quality for each college. The value is determined by how much quality your dollar buys.
In our regional and nationwide rankings, out-of-state tution and fees are used in our calculations. Average in-state tuition and fees are used for our statewide rankings.

Our analysis found University of Washington - Tacoma Campus to be the best value school for business students who want to pursue a master’s degree in Washington. Located in Tacoma, Washington, the medium-sized public school handed out 64 master’s degree awards in 2020-2021.
UW Tacoma graduate students pay an average of $31,032 in tuition and fees each year.
Online graduate courses are available at UW Tacoma, but you will need to check with the school to see if they are available for your field of interest. In 2019-2020 about 4% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
In addition to its best value ranking, and one of the reasons why the school is on the list, UW Tacoma is ranked #1 for overall quality in Washington.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend University of Washington - Seattle Campus. The school came in at #2 on this year’s list. UW Seattle is a large public school situated in Seattle, Washington. It awarded 640 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Seattle U is located in Seattle, Washington and has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 175 master’s degrees to qualified students.

Eastern Washington University landed the #9 spot in the rankings for the best value master’s degree business programs. Eastern Washington University is a fairly large public school located in Cheney, Washington that handed out 170 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Saint Martin’s University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best value places for business students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #10 on the list. Saint Martin’s is a private not-for-profit institution located in Lacey, Washington. The school has a small population, and it awarded 18 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

With a ranking of #13, Pacific Lutheran University did quite well on this year’s best value schools for business students working on their master’s degree. Pacific Lutheran University is a small private not-for-profit school located in Tacoma, Washington that handed out 38 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
The average tuition and fees for an out-of-state graduate students at PLU are $29,684 a year.
